Welcome to Champion Martial Arts. Whether you're a child or adult, we have a program designed to meet your needs. We offer martial arts classes for children (ages 4-12) which stress character development and positive reinforcement while teaching functional self-defense skills. We offer self-defense classes for adults (13-over) as well which focus on situational self-defense (both standing as well as on the ground); we cover all ranges of defense. At Champion Martial Arts, we know that your top concern is safety. We realize that if a student gets hurt, they don't come back, so we go to great lengths to provide a safe, clean, family environment for all of our students. We do this by:
1) providing a state-of-the-art matted floor,
2) encouraging students to take it at their own pace,
3) never requiring students to contact-spar, and
4) by teaching proper warm-up and stretching exercises.
The #2 concern of potential students is embarrassment. Nobody wants to feel like a fool (especially adults). That's why we'll never single you out or ask you to speak or demonstrate for the class unless you feel like it.; and we'll be there by your side all the way to black belt. Our instructors are experts at building self-esteem and at teaching students that they can accomplish infinitely more than they ever dreamed possible.
We would love to develop a long-term relationship between your family and ours and to help you reach your goals in life. Whether you wish to be more confident or focused, to become more self-disciplined, to learn to protect yourself from bullies or potential attackers, or simply to get into the best shape of your life. You really can get from here to there with the right support team behind you. We'd like to be that team for you and while we'll never promise you that it will be easy (you will have to earn it), we will promise you that it will be well worth it! All great journeys begin with a single step. Take your first step TODAY!
Our primary art for stand-up defense is Tae Kwon Do, which is a Korean art focusing primarily on the kicking range; however we also train in the boxing, trapping and clinch range. We teach practical, scenario-based self-defense such as counters to grabs, holds and chokes; these standing self-defense techniques are primarily derived from Korean Hapkido. Additional stand-up defense concepts come from western boxing, Thai boxing, Kali, Silat and Krav Maga. Our ground defense concepts are from Sombo, Judo, Brazillian Jiu-jitsu and wrestling. Needless to say, we at Champion believe in cross-training; we believe that no single art is superior and that a well-rounded martial artist must train in all ranges of self-defense. That's why we have developed such a comprehensive self-defense program.
Whatever you're looking for in the areas of fitness, self-defense or character development, you will find it here at Champion.
